The Baker (2022) is a half-baked revenge thriller that still satisfies a craving for a brittle, crusty protagonist, only to reveal a warmer, softer interior by the end.

The plot does fall flat, crumbling past the halfway mark and should have been left to proof further before filming.

However, there’s still plenty of flavor and crunch, as Perlman delivers fresh beatdowns and quips in his trademark sourdough attitude.

Still, it was filling, but could be improved with more butter.
